Consultation has closed More details to follow on the council housing website
We feel that Council Housing has a good relationship with our tenants and residents, however we are aware that a minority of residents will behave in a manner that aims to engage with staff to waste their time, to offend or to damage the organisation. Because of this we have drafted a proposed Unacceptable Behaviour Policy which we are looking for open and honest feedback from residents on.
The proposed policy explains what Council Housing defines as unacceptable and unreasonable behaviour so that both staff and resident can be clear what to expect and also provides details of the action that we may take against any resident who we consider to have demonstrated unacceptable behaviour.
Whilst Council Housing recognises that some people may have difficulty in expressing themselves or communicating clearly, especially when anxious or upset. We are firm in our stance that all staff have the right to carry out their duties without being subjected to aggressive, offensive, or abusive actions, language, or behaviour, regardless of the circumstances.
We would like to hear back from you regarding your thoughts on this policy and its wording. So please click on the document on the right hand side of the screen and let us know your thoughts.
