FAQs for non-residents
★ If a regeneration project leads to Mainway being knocked down and rebuilt what will happen to us?
All of the new plans being discussed include a retail/commercial/community element. A regeneration would be about homes, but also all the community facilities that Mainway needs too. This includes shops, business, etc. Once Cabinet have made a firm decision about what the Mainway project will look like we will be able to discuss exactly how this will affect you.

Will the council rent premises to us if Mainway gets rebuilt?
It’s too soon to give definite answers, but we need to understand what your long terms plans are so that we can factor this into the Mainway project plans. Shops and service on Mainway are really important. We will involve you in the discussions and will keep you informed at every point as we develop the project. We are committed to making sure that once the project is fully underway you have options for the future that meet your needs.
Until decisions have been made about the nature of the project it’s difficult to say more.
As soon as we can give definitive details we will.
