Consultation has closed. Comments are being considered
The council is considering making a grant bid for funds to operate a ‘try before you buy’ type scheme for electric taxis - with no obligation to buy of course! The scheme would in some way resemble the scheme operated in Wales although we are considering whether there could be arrangements to offer some support for a more longer term outcome.
This ‘try before you buy scheme' is however dependant on whether there is demand from the taxi trade for this. This project is being considered in the pursuit of better local air quality and to reduce CO2 emissions as part of the council’s declared climate emergency response.
Can you please therefore complete the survey below. The number of individual responses received will inform the scale of the project we will seek funding for. An operator may which to share a trial vehicle between its drivers. If this is the case please indicate this through your responses.
