Consultation has now closed.  The neighbourhood plan documents and all representations will be submitted for examination by an independent planning inspector, who will determine if the plan meets certain criteria requirements and standards. More details to follow on the council website, link below


Lancaster City Council consulted on the Carnforth Neighbourhood Plan for six weeks, from Friday 4 February 2022 to Friday 18 March 2022.

Now this has ended, Lancaster City Council will submit the plan and all associated comments to an independent planning inspector, who will determine if the plan meets certain requirements and standards.

Carnforth Parish Council has previously consulted on their plan, however, this final consultation will be led by the city council, as outlined in Regulation 16 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) (Amendment) Regulations 2015.

How to make a representation:

  • Complete the online Response Form, link at the bottom of this page
  • Email planningpolicy@lancaster.gov.uk or
  • Write to Lancaster City Council, Planning and Housing Policy Team, Lancaster Town Hall, Lancaster, Dalton Square LA1 1PJ.

Please note: Responses should make clear whether they wish to remain informed over future decisions of the Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with Regulation 16 (iv) of the 2012 Regulations. The deadline for representations is Friday 18 March 2022

The Carnforth Neighbourhood Plan sets out the planning framework about how Carnforth residents and businesses would like the parish to development over the next 10 years up to 2031. Paper copies of the plan can be viewed at Carnforth Civic Hall or Morecambe Town Hall during office open times.

Please note: all valid representations which are received will be made public, including all evidence and information which is submitted to supplement the representation (although contact details such as addresses, emails and telephone numbers will be removed). Please do not submit any information or evidence which you do not wish to be made public. The council cannot accept any anonymous responses nor responses which, for whatever reason, are illegible.
